Homegrown

Tonight I had the opportunity to try Michael Angelo’s Lasagna With Meat Sauce and I have honestly never found a better treat-yo-self meal in the freezer section….maybe, ever. (Read: this is pasta, cheese, and two glasses of wine).

Okay, first of all: I never trust those two left-most aisles that give me the chills. Not just because they are strategically, and USDA-mandated, to be 0 degrees Fahrenheit, but because they are ridden with preservatives and things I cannot pronounce (and therefor, should not put in my body).

Not Michael Angelo’s. This Austin-based brand (shouts out to the homeland) keeps it healthy and organic. Not only can I pronounce every ingredient on this list, but I am not ashamed to be eating them.

Just look at that cheesy goodness.

Not to give my home state too much credit, but they nailed this one out of the park. Michael Angelo’s can make a mean lasagna – fresh beef, semolina lasagna, and Pecorino Romano. The sauce tasted fresh and not too sweet. Pro tip: add a little red pepper flake and parmesan to the top and you’ll forget that this thing only took 30 minutes to bake.

Michael Angelo’s Lasagna With Meat Sauce is definitely worth a try. Or two. Or three… To try it for yourself, check out a freezer section near you. If you are feeling adventurous, check out Michael Angelo’s Shrimp Scampi or Eggplant Parmesan – also great options.
